The ÃÛÌÒTV hired David Overstreet II as the secondary/cornerbacks coach in 2025. Overstreet joins Matt Eberflus in Dallas after coaching defensive backs and nickelbacks in Chicago for three seasons.
While with Chicago from 2022-24, the Bears grabbed 47 interceptions, marking the sixth-most within the league during that time span. Overstreet also coached rising cornerback Jaylon Johnson to two Pro Bowl nods (2023-24).
The Bears finished 2023 tied for the league lead in interceptions (22) and tied for fifth in takeaways (28). Under Overstreet, Johnson tied for fourth in interceptions (four) on his way to second-team All-Pro honors and his first career Pro Bowl nod. Also, Tyrique Stevenson led all rookies in solo tackles (65) and interceptions (four).
In 2022 Overstreet helped the youngest on-field roster to top-10 rankings in completions allowed (323) and interception yards (201).
The former safety made his NFL coaching debut in 2018 as a defensive quality control assistant for the Indianapolis Colts before elevating to assistant defensive backs coach in 2021. From 2018-21, the Colts grabbed 64 interceptions, tied for third in that span. Under Overstreet, the Colts finished third in the league in interceptions (19) in 2021. He also helped cornerback Kenny Moore achieve his first career Pro Bowl nod in 2021.
In 2016 Overstreet moved to Garden City Community College, spending two seasons as defensive passing game coordinator and cornerbacks coach. The Broncbusters claimed the 2016 NJCAA National Championship, defeating Arizona Western, 25-22, in the El Toro Bowl. He helped Garden City finish sixth in interceptions (18) in the NJCAA in 2017.
Overstreet owned a marketing and sales firm before returning to football in 2015 as the cornerbacks coach for Holmes Community College.
The Dallas, Texas native was a four-year starter at safety for Missouri from 2002-06, earning first-team All-Big 12 recognition twice. Overstreet graduated from Missouri with a bachelor's degree in graphic design in 2006.
