The ÃÛÌÒTV hired Chidera Uzo-Diribe as the outside linebackers coach in 2026. Uzo-Diribe arrives in Dallas after spending the first 10 years of his coaching career in the collegiate ranks, most recently at Georgia.
Uzo-Diribe spent the previous four seasons (2022-25) on Kirby Smart's staff at Georgia, helping the Bulldogs to three College Football Playoff appearances and three SEC championships during his time in Athens.
Most recently in 2025, Uzo-Diribe was part of a Georgia staff that led the Bulldogs to their third SEC title in four years. His outside linebackers contributed to a defense that ranked fourth nationally in rushing defense (81.5 ypg) and 10th in scoring defense (17.6 ppg).
In 2024 Uzo-Diribe helped coach a standout unit highlighted by hybrid linebackers Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams, who both wound up going in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Walker, chosen 15th overall by the Atlanta Falcons, earned the Butkus Award in 2024 at Georgia as the nation's top linebacker and garnered first-team All-America honors. Williams, drafted 11th overall by the San Francisco 49ers, earned second-team All-SEC honors after notching 8.5 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks.
Uzo-Diribe helped the Bulldogs to a 13-1 record in 2023, finishing the campaign with a 63-3 win over Florida State in the Capital One Orange Bowl. Georgia's defense ranked fifth nationally in scoring defense (15.6 ppg) and led the nation in third-down defense (25.7%).
In Uzo-Diribe's first season at Georgia, he was part of a coaching staff that led the 15-0 Bulldogs to the 2022 CFP National Championship, punctuated by a 65-7 victory over TCU in the title game. Georgia's defense finished among the nation's best, ranking first in rushing defense (77.1 ypg), second in red zone defense (67.6%) and fifth in scoring defense (14.3 ppg).
During Georgia's championship season, Uzo-Diribe helped mentor standout linebackers such as Nolan Smith and Robert Beal. Smith was drafted 30th overall by Philadelphia in the 2023 NFL Draft, and Beal was selected in the fifth round by San Francisco.
Prior to Georgia, Uzo-Diribe served as the defensive line coach at SMU in 2021. The Mustangs finished 8–4, and he coached Elijah Chatman to second-team All-American Athletic Conference honors, while DeVere Levelston led the AAC in sacks under his guidance. He followed head coach Sonny Dykes to TCU after the 2021 season before accepting the outside linebackers role at Georgia.
From 2019–20, Uzo-Diribe coached outside linebackers at Kansas, where he mentored All-Big 12 selection Kyron Johnson.
Uzo-Diribe began his coaching career at his alma mater, Colorado, as a graduate assistant from 2016-18. He also participated in the 2018 Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the San Francisco 49ers.
A former standout defensive lineman at Colorado, Uzo-Diribe finished his Buffaloes career tied for sixth in program history in sacks and second in forced fumbles. In 2013 he ranked second in the nation with five forced fumbles and was on the final watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award, given to the nation's top defensive end. He went on to sign as a free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2015.
Uzo-Diribe and his wife, Hana, have twin daughters: Amara and Amani, and a son, Azariah.
