FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys returned to AT&T Stadium on Sunday afternoon for the first time since late September after a two-game road stretch.
Their friendly confines helped them, as Dallas beat their NFC East rival Washington Commanders 44-22, moving to 2-0-1 on the year at home.
In Week 7 already, the Cowboys have reached the same number of wins they got at home last season with two. In 2024, they finished the year 2-7 at AT&T Stadium after winning 16 straight games on home turf coming into the season.

The Cowboys defense recorded two sacks a piece on both Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota on Sunday afternoon, for a loss of 14 total yards. It's the second most sacks that Dallas has had in a game this season, as the pass rush unit recorded five against the Jets.

For the fourth straight game, the Cowboys came out on top in the turnover battle. This time, Dallas was +2 with a strip sack by Shemar James that was recovered by Jadeveon Clowney, and a pick-six from DaRon Bland. In those four games, the Cowboys are 2-2-1.

Javonte Williams has seven touchdowns in seven games, tying him with Herschel Walker and "Bullet" Bob Hayes for the most touchdowns in their first seven games with the franchise.

In the last four games, Dak Prescott has thrown 13 touchdown passes without an interception. He's the sixth player in NFL history to have at least three passing touchdowns without an interception in four consecutive games, joining Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

Dallas' offense came out of the gates firing, with 17 points in the first quarter, the most that the Cowboys have opened a game with this season. It's the second most points they've scored in a quarter this season, with Dallas putting up 20 in the second quarter against the Jets and 20 in the fourth quarter against the Giants.

After weeks of running some of the most zone coverage in the league, Matt Eberflus' defense rolled out more man coverage on Sunday, and it ended up going pretty well. Against man coverage, Commanders QBs Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota completed just 33% of their passes for 67 yards.

A pair of 40-point overtime games to start the season preceded Sunday's 44-point outburst against the Commanders. Sunday was quite the day for Jake Ferguson, who set some career and NFL records. With his two touchdowns, Ferguson is up to six on the season, a career high and the most for a Cowboys tight end through seven games in franchise history. With four consecutive games scoring a touchdown, Ferguson joins Jason Witten as the only other tight end in franchise history to score in four straight games. Lastly, he's the first tight end in NFL history with at least 50 receptions and six touchdowns through the first seven games of a season.

That's how many years it's been since an NFL quarterback pulled off the stat Dak Prescott did against Washington. Not since 1933 has any NFL QB thrown for 20 touchdowns without an interception in home games against one team. Tom Brady had 18 TD passes and no picks in home games against the Steelers in his career before Dak surpassed that on Sunday.
