11:10 a.m. -- Next week, NFL front offices, scouting departments and coaching staffs will all converge on Mobile, Alabama for the 2026 Senior Bowl, where some of college football's up and coming draft prospects will look to improve their draft stock with strong performances in front of teams that could draft them.
There will be three Cowboys assistants that will be looking to help them on the National team's coaching staff. Secondary/DBs coach David Overstreet III will serve as the defensive coordinator, with assistant DL coach Bryan Bing and defensive assistant/quality control coach Tanzel Smart will both coach the defensive line.
Not only does it serve as another coaching opportunity for Dallas' three assistants, and maybe in some bigger roles, but it gives the Cowboys valuable insight on the players in each position room as well with their own coaches having been around the players in a football setting. With two first round picks coming up, both of which could be defensive players, it's a more up close and personal look at prospects than some teams will be able to get in their pre-draft process.

2:54 p.m. -- Speaking to reporters on Tuesday at a Salvation Army charity event, Cowboys defensive lineman voice support for his position coach, Cowboys DL coach Aaron Whitecotton, to get Dallas' vacant defensive coordinator role. Thomas has played for Whitecotton the last four years of his career, three of which were together with the Jets before both came to the Cowboys in 2025.
"He's been amazing to me," Thomas said. "Every d-line I've been on, we've been great under him. He commands intensity, he commands greatness, he has a high standard for us that he doesn't bend on ever. Whether it's Week 1 or Week 17 and you're not going to the playoffs, he holds us to the same standard every day.
Definitely a brilliant football mind, the way that he's able to communicate concepts and have us understand how we're doing things and how the offense is trying to attack us, and also how to break guys down is one of his super powers and specialties. I definitely believe he's the man for the job, a man who could do it, and a man who would dominate in his first year."
Whitecotton interviewed for the defensive coordinator role on Monday, and the Cowboys are expected to interview two more candidates, Ravens DC Zach Orr and former Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon, on Tuesday. 5:06 p.m. - While he didn't make the Pro Bowl for the first time in two years, KaVontae Turpin rewrote plenty of the Cowboys' return records in 2025. And that's not exactly a good thing, considering all of the points allowed by the defense, resulted in Turpin having a franchise-record 69 kickoff returns.
But at least he made the most of it. Capped off by 215 yards on Sunday, including a season-long 84-yard return, Turpin finished the year with 1,814 kickoff return yards, the most in franchise history. That demolished the previous record of 1,399 kick return yards in a season by Tyson Thompson (2005).
Turpin had just 55 punt return yards this year, but the 1,869 combined return yards is also a Cowboys single-season record, eclipsing Reggie Swinton (1,741 in 2001).
And with this season, Turpin now ranks second in franchise history in total combined return yards with 4,142, trailing only Kevin Williams (4,329).
-----------------
4:25 p.m. - For just the second time in team history, a Cowboys quarterback reached 600 passing attempts in a single season. It's a career-high for Dak Prescott, who joins only Tony Romo (648 in 2012) to throw the ball at least 600 times in a season.
Dak, who played a half, started all 17 games for just the second time in his career. He also said he's "selfishly pissed" about losing to the Giants for the first time since his rookie year when he lost both games against the Giants. Since that 2016 season, Dak had beaten the Giants 13 straight times as a starter, a streak that technically ends since he started the game on Sunday.
-----------------
4:11 p.m. - The NFL only expanded to a 17-game schedule in 2021, so it's not a huge surprised that Aubrey is the first kicker in team history to make a field goal in all 17 games of a regular season.
Aubrey did accomplish that feat for the first time in his career when he booted a 22-yarder in the first quarter.
Overall, Aubrey's streak is just 18 games total, as he carried over just one game from 2024 into this season.
Still, he had another stellar season, becoming the only Cowboys kicker to ever make three Pro Bowls.
-----------------
11:30 a.m. -- The Cowboys have made their final decision on Dak Prescott ahead of the regular season finale against the New York Giants.
Prescott, the four-time Pro Bowl quarterback who has 16 starts this season, will be awarded a 17th, and is both active and starting against Big Blue — something the team stood firm would be the case in the days leading into the game.
DeMarvion Overshown and Shavon Revel will, however, not take the field due to injury, and headline the inactives list for Dallas in Week 18.
Three others join them: Alijah Clark, Jay Toia and Perrion Winfrey as inactive. Jaydon Blue will see his first game reps since late October with the decision to shut down Javonte Williams and Malik Davis due to injury, and rookie running back Phil Mafah is set to make his long-awaited debut.
Jan. 3
12:00 p.m. -- Amidst a flurry of roster moves, the Cowboys activated two of their reserve/designated for return listed players in CB Josh Butler and RB Phil Mafah.
Both now have a chance make their season debuts on Sunday against the New York Giants, and add depth to rooms that have been hit with injuries late in the season.
With Javonte Williams and Malik Davis being moves to injured reserve, the rookie Mafah has a chance to show what he can bring alongside fellow rookie Jaydon Blue, assuming both are active against New York. Butler gives the Cowboys more depth at cornerback with the waiving of Trevon Diggs earlier in the week.

2:16 p.m. -- The Cowboys have ruled out five players for their final game of the season against the Giants. Running backs Javonte Williams (shoulder/neck) and Malik Davis (calf/eye), G T.J. Bass (knee), LB DeMarvion Overshown (concussion) and CB Shavon Revel (concussion/neck) will all be sidelined.
Three players are questionable for the Cowboys, all three of them being on the reserve/designated for return list in DE Payton Turner, RB Phil Mafah and CB Josh Butler. There's a good chance that some, if not all of them, will be activated for Dallas' final game of the season.
For the Giants, six players were ruled out in DB Cor'Dale Flott (knee), DB Jevon Holland (knee/concussion), TE Theo Johnson (illness), OL Evan Neal (neck), DL Rakeem Nunez-Roches (ankle/toe) and DL Roy Robertson-Harris (knee). Wide receiver Jalin Hyatt (illness) is questionable.

3:30 p.m. -- For the second straight day, RBs Javonte Williams (shoulder/neck) and Malik Davis (calf/eye) did not practice for the Cowboys, leaving their status for Sunday's season finale against the Giants in question.
The other two Cowboys players who did not practice on Thursday were G T.J. Bass (knee) and CB Shavon Revel (concussion/neck). Tight end Jake Ferguson, who worked with the rehab group on Wednesday, was bumped up to limited status on Thursday.
All three of OL Tyler Smith (knee), WR Ryan Flournoy (knee) and DT Perrion Winfrey (NIR-Personal) were upgraded to full participation on Thursday.

Dec. 31
3:20 p.m. -- In the first injury report of the week, five Cowboys were listed as did not participate in Wednesday's practice leading up to Dallas' Week 18 game against the Giants.
Guard T.J. Bass (knee), RB Malik Davis (calf/eye), TE Jake Ferguson (calf), CB Shavon Revel (concussion/neck) and DT Perrion Winfrey (NIR-Personal) did not practice on Wednesday. An additional six players were limited, including WR Ryan Flournoy (knee), LB DeMarvion Overshown (concussion) and G Tyler Smith (knee).
Good news for Dallas came in that Quinnen Williams, who has been dealing with a neck injury, was a full participant on Wednesday.
For the Giants, some key players did not practice including LB Abdul Carter (illness) and WR Wan'Dale Robinson (rib).

Dec. 29
3:40 p.m. -- On Thursday against the Commanders, Cowboys LB Logan Wilson did not record a single snap for the first time this season, even dating back to his time before the trade deadline with the Bengals. Why?
"That was unfortunate with Logan," Cowboys COO/co-owner Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan Monday morning. "They didn't have many snaps throughout the game, much less obviously in the first half. I will say it was, I wouldn't call it a mistake, but some confusion in terms of how that rotation was supposed to go with [LBs coach Dave] Borgonzi. It certainly wasn't the intent for him not to play a snap, but sometimes the game with not many snaps on one particular side of the ball, things can not go according to plan."
Jones would go on to clarify that the confusion was on the part of Borgonzi and the defensive coaching staff, something that head coach Brian Schottenheimer reiterated later on in the day.
"The plan was to play Logan," Schottenheimer said. "We only had 21 snaps in the first half. We kind of messed up rotation in the second half. It's not the first time that's happened, probably not the last time. We take that as a coaching staff."
-------------------
11:31 a.m. - Coming off one of his best games of the season, Jadeveon Clowney not only expressed his desire to be back with the Cowboys, but also wanting to get a deal done sooner so he can have a full offseason and training camp.
And it sounds like the Cowboys are on the same page. Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones was asked about wanting Clowney back on 105.3 "The Fan" on Monday.
"Absolutely. He's played at a very high level. He's best one of our best pressure players," Jones said. "We'd love to have Jadeveon back. We'll be talking with his guys right away. Would love to get him in the mix,. He is a leader. We'd love to have him in the mix from the get-go, which would be outstanding. Hopefully with his willingness to be here and us wanting him to be here, hopefully we can figure something out."
Clowney is tied for the team lead in sacks with 5.5 after recording 1.5 sacks in Thursday's win over the Commanders.
Dec. 25
6:21 p.m. – The reason the Cowboys were pinned back to their own 3-yard line was a result of KaVontae Turpin not catching a punt that rolled down by the goal line.
Leave it to Turpin to bail out the offense, producing the longest play of the season. In fact, Turpin's 86-yard touchdown catch is the longest play in NFL history on Christmas Day.
Turpin only had one catch for the game, but it was one of the biggest ones, giving Dallas a 21-3 lead that would never lose. It's also the second straight year Turpin has made a back-breaking play in Washington. Last year, his 99-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter helped Dallas secure a 34-26 win.
Turpin quipped "I hope so" when asked if Washington head coach Dan Quinn, the former Cowboys defensive coordinator, is tired of seeing him. Quinn has had a front-row seat to Turpin running the length of the field twice in consecutive years.
"I did something here last year. I did something here this year," he said. "This is one of my favorite places to play."
-------------------
5:43 p.m. - While he entered the game as the backup to Javonte Williams, who had a great start to his day with a rushing touchdown and over 50 yards, Malik Davis proved to be the closer.
Williams left with a shoulder injury and Davis not only finished the job, he had a career-day himself, rushing for 105 yards. Now, it wasn't without some sacrifice as Davis' right eye was swollen shut after taking a hand to the face in one of the final carries.
His previous career-high was 47 yards, occurring on Thanksgiving against the Chiefs.
Davis wasn't even with the Cowboys to start the season, only joining them late in training camp and then spent a few weeks on the practice squad before eventually getting signed to the roster.
5:31 p.m. - The Cowboys kicker won't be listing Washington has one of his favorite places to kick. With a fourth-quarter miss, Aubrey now has five missed kicks here among the 13 total misses in his career.
However, he did bounce back with a 51-yard field goal on the next driving, ultimately giving the Cowboys a two-score lead.
Aubrey now has 150 points scored this year, becoming the first NFL kicker in history to have 150 points scored in each of his first three seasons.
Aubrey went 3-of-4 on the day, extending his streak of field goals this year. He's the first kicker in Cowboys history to make a field goal in 16 straight games during a season. Aubrey has a chance to be the first to make at least one field goal in every game this year when the season wraps up next week in New York.
---------------
5:15 p.m. -- With Ryan Flournoy sidelined with a knee injury, Jalen Tolbert was active for the Cowboys for the first time since Dallas played Kansas City on Christmas.
Four catches for 31 yards doesn't pop too much off of the paper, but Tolbert came down with some crucial fourth down catches, including one on Dallas' second drive of the game that would ultimately lead to Dallas scoring their second touchdown of the afternoon.
Earlier in the week, head coach Brian Schottenheimer said he spoke with Tolbert, and that being inactive recently has been hard on the fourth-year wide receiver who had seven touchdowns a year ago. Schottenheimer added, "he certainly can play in this league," and Tolbert came to play on Christmas for Dallas.
------------------------
10:30 a.m. -- Quinnen Williams will play against the Washington Commanders in Week 17.
The four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle was sidelined in Week 16 against the Los Angeles Chargers due to a concussion and neck injury, but is cleared to go on Christmas Day for the Cowboys' battle on Netflix against the bitter NFC East rival.
Ryan Flournoy, however, was unable to get medical clearance on his sprained knee suffered four days ago against the Chargers, and headlines the inactives list with DeMarvion Overshown, who is in concussion protocol.
Other Cowboys' inactives include Caelen Carson, Jaydon Blue, Jay Toia and Perrion Winfrey.

Dec. 24
1 p.m. -- Not long after moving Tyler Guyton to injured reserve and signing Corey Ballentine to the active roster, the Cowboys made a decision on DeMarvion Overshown.
The talented young linebacker has been ruled out of the Christmas Day matchup against the Washington Commanders due to a concussion suffered in Sunday's matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
It will mark the first time Overshown has missed a game since returning from IR following the bye week, having been taking off of a pitch count, officially, against the Chargers.
Ryan Flournoy, however, does have a chance at playing on Netflix, despite suffering a sprained knee on Sunday. He is listed as questionable and will be a gametime decision.
------------------------
12:54 p.m. -- On Wednesday, the Cowboys have placed OT Tyler Guyton on injured reserve, ending his 2025 season.
Guyton, in his second season with the Cowboys, started 10 games at left tackle for the Cowboys this season before missing the previous four with a high ankle sprain. In his place, Tyler Smith will move over from left guard to play left tackle for the remainder of the season.
The future beyond that is unknown, with Brian Schottenheimer saying that Guyton "could end up being the swing tackle" after Dallas' last game against the Chargers, and with Smith implying that he wants to remain at left guard, where he's reached the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons.
Additionally, the Cowboys signed DB Corey Ballentine from the practice squad to the active roster, and elevated LB Justin Barron from the practice squad for Thursday's game against the Washington Commanders.
