Mailbag: Should Thomas see more time at OT?

I thought Nate Thomas did well against the Packers while seeing time at both left and right tackle. Was there a reason for rotating him in? And could we (or should we) see more of him in the future, perhaps even as a starter? – Rodney Miller/Houston, TX

Tommy: I think the reason was more because of injuries. Terence Steele was off the field briefly but came back, and then Tyler Guyton suffered a concussion and had to leave the game early. And I agree, I thought Thomas did well and showed why the Cowboys' staff had such heaping praise for him dating all the way back to training camp. Both Guyton and Steele have had their struggles in pass protection this season, so it wouldn't shock me at all if things get to a point where Thomas comes in as a starter, but I don't think it's to that point yet.
