FRISCO, Texas – In the second ever edition of HBO and NFL Films' in-season Hard Knocks, the TV and the rest of the NFC East will be documented over the course of the 2025 season with the first episode coming in December.
It's the first appearance for the Cowboys on Hard Knocks since 2021, and the fourth appearance for the franchise in the show's 24-year history with their first coming in 2002 and then again in 2008.
Before the Cowboys and the rest of the NFC East are featured in the in-season edition of the show, the Buffalo Bills will be showcased in the Hard Knocks training camp series.
"We are thrilled to provide 'Hard Knocks' fans a summer with the Bills and winter with the Cowboys, Giants, Commanders and Eagles in the first year of our exciting new deal with NFL Films," Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller, co-executive vice presidents HBO Documentary and Family Programming, and Bentley Weiner, senior vice president HBO Sports Documentaries said in a press release on Wednesday. "There will be no shortage of star power."
The 2025 season will mark the second year that Hard Knocks follows an entire division, after documenting the AFC North during the 2024 season for the first time ever with in-depth looks at the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers throughout the course of the year.
While 2024 was the first year Hard Knocks followed a full division in-season, it's not the first time that a team has been documented over the course of the year, with the 2021 Indianapolis Colts marking the first ever in-season Hard Knocks series. It was followed by the Arizona Cardinals in 2022 and Miami Dolphins in 2023.
No official date has been announced for the show's debut episode in December, but last year's in-season Hard Knocks series featured eight episodes that released every Tuesday at 8 p.m. CT.
The series will be available to stream on HBO Max and will be narrated by Emmy nominated voice actor Liev Schreiber.
